Thank you for registering your team for the 2024 Buffalo Niagara Dragon Boat Festival®!
Below you'll find helpful resources and links to plan and organize your team for the festival. Check back often, as we will be updating and adding more content as race day draws near.
Team Practices and Training
We practice on the river at Buffalo RiverWorks in the week leading up to the Dragon Boat Festival. Teams learn the fundamentals of dragon boat paddling. Our training will help your team prepare and gain confidence for race day!
Practice Schedules
Practice Schedule To Be Determined
When booking practices, carefully follow the instructions on the Pan Am Dragon Boat website. Payment must be submitted at the time practice dates and times are booked. If payment is not submitted at the time of your request, the practice session will not be scheduled and the time slot will continue to show as available.
***A completed Pan Am waiver must be brought to all practices that you attend***
Team Contests!
Best Team T-Shirt
Get your entries in for Best Team T-Shirt! We will display the t-shirts at Buffalo Riverworks the day of the race, and will be judged by independent judges. Bring your team t-shirt to practice the week before the race. Teams must submit an actual t-shirt for display and judging.
Best Team Costume
Make your race day even MORE fun by racing with your team in costume! Arrive on race day in costume - head on down to the marshalling area and get your team photo taken to be entered to win!
Winning teams will receive a $500* RiverWorks gift certificate, so it pays to play!
*Gift certificates have No Cash Value, but do not need to be used on race day.
Team Fundraising - Fund for Hope
All teams will have the opportunity to set TEAM fundraising goals and win prizes.
Teams who raise $2500+ by race day will be eligible to win $500 and $250 Buffalo RiverWorks gift certificates. The team raising the most funds overall will take the grand prize (and bragging rights!) of the $500 gift certificate, with the second and third place teams each receiving a $250 RiverWorks gift certificate. Pre-Order Food Options
Feed your hungry team! Scrumptious food options prepared by RiverWorks are available for pre-order. A variety of options are available. Meals must be pre-ordered and paid for prior to the event. Food and payment options will be posted in April 2023. Please check back!
Additionally, a variety of food and beverages are available for sale in locations throughout the venue.
OUTSIDE FOOD AND BEVERAGES ARE PROHIBITED.
Hotel Accommodations
Each year Hope Chest works with local hotels to obtain preferential room rates for our out of town teams. Hotel accommodations and rates coming soon.
